I come alongside parents to process parenting challenges and build wise habits rooted in relational connection that is also brain science-informed.

My coaching is twofold: 1) CF foundational framework for families privately and 2) in order to multiply impact, I also coach churches. I serve as a missionary with the trustworthy engine of FamilyLife Canada and seek to partner with churches to build ministries and communities that offer help and hope for marriages and parents. My services are free because of a large team of generous partners.

I first discovered Connected Families when I was getting my master’s degree and met Jim Jackson in a class. As a young dad, I was struck by the power of modeling and relational connection for passing on my faith and building wisdom. As a pastor, I researched a lot of parenting curriculum, but nothing combined effective brain science with the heart of Gospel reconciliation like Connected Families.

My wife and I began our ministry serving children, and as those children grew into youth, our focus naturally expanded to youth ministry. Over time, we have watched the youth step into marriage and start their own families and through that journey, God has grown in us a deep passion for marriage and family ministry. I am a part-time pediatrician, a full-time wife, a full-time mom of three energetic boys, and also a certified parent coach through Connected Families! My family loves to laugh and make memories, but we have often struggled in the day-to-day details. We believe the Lord has made each one of us just as we are, and we trust that He has a plan for our family, through both blessings and trials. Words often heard in our stories include ADHD, autism, anxiety, anger…we call them the A’s! Oh, and sometimes we can throw in asthma and allergies too! As you can imagine, parenting has not been an easy journey. Within our family, we have had struggles, anger, many tears, frustrations, hurt feelings, and even feelings of hopelessness. A friend told us about Connected Families several years ago, and my husband and I dove into all their resources we could get our hands on! Everything Connected Families has to offer is filled with HOPE! As we learned more about the framework, especially that our boys needed to feel safe and loved first, before we could teach them or correct them in anything, our family began to turn around. We are by no means perfect, and even though our boys are older—all teens now, we are still in the thick of it and continue to need the framework to guide us every day. In the end, our hope is we would always come back to our foundation—resting in Him—Jesus, our Rock, and our Refuge! As a pediatrician with 25+ years of experience, I seem to have also collected many patients and families who struggle with the same things we do—ADHD, autism, anxiety, and the heartache and challenges that come along with them. This has not been intentional, but I know that I am able to relate to families both as a doctor and as a Mom who “gets it.” It was also in this light that I was excited to see the development of Connected Families’ Sensitive & Intense Kids online course. In my pediatric work, I have never been able to find anything like it! The Sensitive & Intense Kids course, along with all Connected Families resources, is a beautiful blend of brain science, decades of experience, and a faith-based foundation. It has been my joy to begin sharing parts of what I have learned from this course within my pediatric practice and to watch parents also begin to see the glimmer of hope. Through coaching with me, either in general parenting, or specifically with sensitive & intense kids, this would be my vision for you as well–not to be your doctor, but to be your coach and still be that Mom who “gets it,” who now has been equipped with resources and tools to encourage you and guide you in a way that offers more hope to your parenting! About my coaching: I have been a parent coach for about 10 years since completing a year-long course with the Parent Coaching Institute. I was attracted to CF by the Biblically grounded and research-informed teaching. Connected Families is rich with the knowledge, tools, and encouragement that parents need. While we all know that parenting can be fun and rewarding, it doesn’t take long to realize that raising a little human can also be challenging and exhausting. Sometimes we get stuck, trying the same techniques and getting the same frustrating results. Parent coaching is a way to get out of that rut. I chose a business name of “Moving Forward Parent Coaching” to help parents know that there is a way forward and with God’s help, find more joy and peace for yourself and your family. I love to encourage parents through their everyday challenges, especially those with children ages 2 to 10. I am also passionate about supporting single parents with the extra responsibilities they carry. As a coach, I am by your side to help you become more competent, confident, calm, and Christ-like. About me: My husband, Jason, and I both grew up in Kansas and lived there until 2000 when his job change moved our family to Athens, Greece. In all, we lived in 5 locations in Europe, Africa and Latin America. We now live in NW Montana and also spend several months each year close to family in Denver. As a mom to 4 kiddos, I have loved using the CF framework to learn a way of parenting that is new to me. I found Connected Families as I was struggling with a lot of intensity coming from my oldest child, who was 3 at the time. I am a certified parent coach with Connected Families. With four wonderful children of my own—ages 17, 15, 13, and 11—I understand the joys and challenges of raising a family. As a former missionary, our family has had to navigate some pretty major transitions that have deeply impacted us all. Through my own personal journey, I have experienced firsthand the transformational power of the gospel through the Connected Families framework, a biblically-based approach to parenting that has brought healing and growth to my own household. When I was at the peak of struggle in my parenting, I was exhausting all parenting resources, and then I came across a book in the library by Connected Families. I have never looked back. As a mother to 5 kids (ages 17 to 7), I understand the unique challenges and joy parents face, especially parenting children with ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression, gifted, dyslexia, developmental delays, mental health challenges and adoption trauma. Before finding Connected Families I searched everywhere for resources and read book after book about methods that were short lived. That is where I hit the wall of desperation and sought parent coaching through Connected Families. I ultimately became a coach through their training program to help others like me.
