Having benefited so much from Connected Families courses and materials myself, I’m excited to support other parents in ministry who are also seeking to build healthy connections with their children, and to guide them, with love and grace, towards wisdom and responsibility.

I’m originally from the UK, where I trained as a primary school teacher. For most of my adult life, though, I’ve been supporting missionaries and their children in the South Pacific. My roles have included teacher, school leader, and missionary care worker. In addition to completing Connected Families courses, I’ve received training in coaching, missionary care, conflict resolution, debriefing, and trauma-informed classrooms. By marrying Andrew (an American who grew up in Peru) and becoming a parent to our three children, I’ve gained experience in cross-cultural marriage and raising Third Culture Kids!

With a B.S. in Biblical Studies and over 15 years of ministry experience as a pastor, I bring both personal and professional passion to helping families grow in grace and connection. I am a Certified Parent Coach (Connected Families), an Affiliate Trainer for Trauma Free World, and a Certified Facilitator for Prepare & Enrich. As a therapeutic foster parent and mom of three, two adopted through the foster care system, I understand the complexities of parenting children with deep histories of trauma. I discovered Connected Families in the darkness of my own parenting journey. I was desperate for help, parenting children who had recently received multiple diagnoses, and my husband and I felt completely ill-equipped to meet their needs. Through Connected Families, we found grace, understanding, and practical tools that gave us the confidence to parent through adversity, and discover healing on the other side. Today, I work at an alternative school, where I witness daily the transformative power of connection with students from the hardest places. I also serve on the vision team for Foster the City, equipping and inspiring churches to provide loving homes and supportive communities for children in foster care. It is never too late for God’s grace and truth to change lives! In my early 60’s, I unexpectedly encountered Connected Families on the Internet and, even at this age, what I learned was so encouraging! I sure wish I had had Connected Families as a young mom! As I engaged with the framework through the Discipline that Connects online course, received coaching myself, and continued to engage with other Connected Families materials, I began to see a new richness in my life, my marriage, and even my extended family! This gave me a desire to share what I was learning by pursuing parent coaching certification. My husband and I have been missionaries with FamilyLife, a Cru ministry for over 30 years. We have had a heart to see families experience the hope and help they can find only in a relationship with Christ. As a certified parent coach, I now have another tool to offer families so that parents can experience God’s transforming grace and truth and share it with their kids. I am excited to walk with parents (or grandparents!) to discover God’s unique plan for their family! Once overwhelmed by parenting in our own strength, we discovered Connected Families in 2020 and found biblical wisdom that transformed our home. You’re not alone. And you’re not failing. So often we turn to parenting techniques rooted in control and punishment… but parenting was never meant to be an experience of fear. Not for us, and not for our kids. God’s promise for us is power, love, and a sound mind. For years, I wrestled with the same struggles. As a mom of five energetic sons, I often found myself overwhelmed and dysregulated, desperate to manage the chaos and do right by my kids. But in that struggle, God began a transformation. I started to see a different picture of parenting—one that reflects the heart of Jesus. His way of leading wasn’t about control or perfection; it was about influence born from love, that leads to wisdom and lasting change. That journey led me to become a Certified Parent Coach with Connected Families, where I now walk alongside parents who are ready to move from frustration to fruitfulness. Ultimately, my goal is that parents are daily experiencing what it means to walk in the love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control that is our inheritance through Christ. I spend most days with kids, and have experience on staff in a ministry setting, as well as running a homeschool cooperative and directing a children’s theater group. I’ve seen one truth again and again: children thrive when they feel connected, understood, and deeply loved. Hello, I am Ms. Jen and I believe we are all different by design. I love to partner with families, like yours, to help parents of children who may be struggling with issues commonly associated with ADHD, Autism, Sensory Processing Differences, PANS/PANDAS, mood disorders, and trauma. As a Connected Families Certified Parent Coach, I help parents grow wisdom in their sensitive and intense kiddos using the Connected Families Framework. I am a parent of three sensitive and intense daughters, who are grown now and have children of their own, who are also sensitive and intense. I wish I had Connected Families parent coaching while raising my girls! I have found it helpful with my grandkids and in my pediatric mental health practice, where I work with neurodivergent kiddos and their families. All families struggle at times, and we all need support. I desire to bring hope and direction for parents through parent coaching and see a lasting positive change in the whole family. As a parent coach I am passionate about the well-being of families. I come alongside parents and help them find a long-lasting plan that increases peace and grace in the family. I am a mom of three active girls and an Executive Director at a family ministry called Moms for Kids or “Momssit”. Through my work, I serve families especially in Finland. I am an adoptive mom of two grown children and have more than 30 years of experience working with children in a variety of roles, including over a decade in the foster care and adoption community. I have deep admiration for parents who answer a calling that impacts every area of their lives. I am passionate about encouraging and supporting them as they faithfully walk out that calling, even in challenging circumstances. I am a mom to three energetic kiddos (ages 3, 6, and 9). If you’ve ever felt exhausted and overwhelmed as a parent, I can relate! Early on in my parenting journey, I struggled with my strong-willed daughter.
