In addition to being a CF Certified Parent Coach, I am also the Women’s Ministry Director at Kenmore Alliance Church, and mother of three young adults. My parenting journey was a bumpy one, eventually landing me on my face before God. I have found a tremendous amount of hope and guidance from Connected Families, and it is my desire to pass that on to other parents who are looking for the same thing!

Born and raised in Hong Kong, I earned my Bachelor of Social Work from Hong Kong Baptist University and worked in a special school for children with cerebral palsy before moving to the United States. I later completed both a Master’s in Family Studies and a Doctor of Education in Counselor Education and Student Personnel Services at Virginia Tech.

For 25 years, I devoted myself to raising and homeschooling my children while also supporting my husband’s ministry at Blacksburg Chinese Church through worship, women’s Bible studies, and small group leadership.

As an empty nester, God opened new doors through my work with Connected Families, where I became a certified parent coach and workshop speaker. This encounter reshaped my calling, leading me into a ministry of reconciliation—especially between parents and children.

Deeply grateful for the bonds I share with my husband, three grown children, and six grandchildren, I carry a special passion for Asian families. While Asian parents love deeply, cultural patterns of shame and honor often distort the message of love. My heart is to help families experience grace, truth, and the freedom of God’s redeeming love.

I have a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a certification in Early Childhood education. I have taught overseas in private education as well as in public education in the States. I have served in Children and Family Ministry for over 15 years and I am currently the Director of Church Ministries, a Connected Families Parent Coach and have a Connected Families partnership with our church in Murrells Inlet. I teach Connected Families courses and speak in workshops around the region. I partner with Motorvate Kids, a pediatric occupational therapy group in Myrtle Beach; HopeDiscipleship a Biblical counseling 503c non-profit and various other schools and churches in the area.

We’re trained in the framework that weaves together the Gospel truth, neuroscience and practical strategies to help parents discipline with connection and grace. As a Catholic couple raising our own children, we speak from real-life experience, sharing honestly about the struggles, breakthroughs, and holy moments of everyday family life. We are passionate about equipping parents to live out their vocation as the leaders of the domestic church. We’ve led workshops, retreats, and small group courses and are comfortable leading them both in person and online. We are grateful for the consistent feedback on the clarity, warmth, and impact of our presentations. We communicate with energy and vulnerability, making complex concepts easy to grasp and apply. Bilingual and culturally aware, we love serving diverse communities and continually invest in our own learning to offer parents relevant, compassionate support.
