A serenity prayer for parents to memorize:

God, grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change,
courage to change the one I can,
and the wisdom to know that it’s me.

Oftentimes, as parents, we want things to go the way we want them to. We want our kids to change; we want their behavior to change; we want our family to change — but we are resistant to changing the only thing we truly control: ourselves.

This week, pray that God would grant you the peace and the wisdom to take a deep breath and be willing to change yourself.
